How Did This Start?
Saber Tag started as a flash of a dream, many years ago: what if you could sword fight with other people, with the freedom and tracking of playing laser tag?
Attempts at inventing this game system would happen every couple of months. An idea would pop up but then fizzle out. The dream would be put aside, but it would keep coming back, driving a new attempt to solve this problem.
Until one day, the proof of concept worked.
Since then, the core concept has been developed, refined, and designed with careful consideration for safety, ease of use, visibility, and affordability. A lot of sweat, tears, and memorable demonstrations provided valuable feedback and lessons.
Now, Saber Tag is ready to go from working prototype to a beta launch, and this Kickstarter will be how you can support it taking the next step towards a tetherless, conductive sword fighting game.
