  • Video Game Fantasy Design Redux

Here’s a look at the second redesign of the custom Saber Tag housing, the Video Game Fantasy Saber 🗡️🗡️🗡️

I’m still a huge fan of the color scheme, the gold makes the purple really pop, and both give it that regal feel 👑

The last redesign is hot off the printer, and we’re getting some new professional photos of the new designs for the Sabers and Armor.

Look forward to seeing those soon on the Kickstarter!

  • Kickstarter Pre-Launch

It’s official: The Saber Tag Pre-Launch page is now LIVE! ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Check it out now, and sign up to be notified the moment the campaign goes live.

Thanks so much for all the support and interest these past few months.

Share this if you can, and look forward to the official campaign launch soon!

  • Sci-Fi Housing, Redux

Here’s a look at the first slimmed down custom housing for Saber Tag, the Sci-Fi theme. The futuristic style really pops with the illuminated blade.

Be sure to share this with anyone who might crave a realistic light saber battle.

I’m very excited to see it and the other customs in action soon, and to share that footage, so stay tuned these next weeks!

  • Saber Tag Custom HP Indicators

Here’s a sneak peek at the custom HP Indicators planned for the higher Saber Tag reward tiers! ⚔️⚔️⚔️

While we’re trying to keep the profiles for these devices to be as slim as possible, it’s been fun to experiment with different shapes and details, pushing the boundaries slightly while still staying compact.

I hope each design here is evocative and inspirational, and any suggested refinements are greatly encouraged before these designs get finalized.

Be on the lookout for the slimmer Saber redesigns, too!

  • New Prototype Saber

Saber Tag’s newest prototype Saber is now in working order! ⚔️⚔️⚔️

After some collective feedback and insight, a new battery has been picked that will be housed in the hilt, which means the guard is a lot slimmer and trimmer.

We’re very excited to start field testing these soon, the lighter weight feels great to swing around and it should make the game play both safer and snappier.

And I’m personally excited to adapt the models of the custom styles to this new design, I can’t wait to see how they look.

Stay tuned for updates on these and more!

  • Memorial Day Weekend Demo

We had a blast showcasing and demo-ing Saber Tag at our friend reunion this weekend. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Some new Armor designs with increased hit boxes were field tested, which worked out very well in play testing.

These changes, plus a new, lighter, and sleeker Saber redesign (!!!), are based off of tester feedback, and both design prototypes will be featured in the Kickstarter when it launches soon!

  • Saber Tag Screens

Here’s a look at some of Saber Tag’s Menu and Game Play screens. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Saber Tag aims to be a sword fighting game that is easy to start, and easy to track/score, so the menus and game screens are being designed as cleanly as possible for the players.

The conveniently-located screen can be glanced at during the game, showing the players’ HP gauges and the timer, all displayed so it can be quickly and easily understood.

This is in addition to the HP Indicators the players wear, so there are two ways to track the game play, without getting in the way of the actual game play.

These screens will be refined as more feedback is gathered, so stay tuned for more Saber Tag updates.

  • Demo Photos

We had a great time recently with another Saber Tag demo, testing out a few new features and getting some valuable feedback and ideas.

So enjoy a few action shots, and there will be more coming soon as we test Saber Tag to its limits and perfect its design. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

  • Saber Tag’s Patent Pending Technology

We are happy to announce that our underlying invention that enables Saber Tag to be completely tether-less is now Patent Pending!

If you’ve been wondering why Saber Tag uses those shiny, striped patterns, it’s because it utilizes conductive fabric patterns (on both the Saber and the Armor) in order to register hits.

These patterns serve as open electrical switches, so if a player’s Saber hits another player’s Armor piece, both switches independently close, telling the game that a clean hit occurred.

It’s a fun, novel concept with a *ton* of future applications, and it’s what lets Saber Tag be a freeing and responsive way to sword fight.

The Kickstarter campaign is now being reviewed before submission, so stay tuned for more news on that front as well!

  • Bonus Feature: Fantasy Themed Saber Housing

Here’s your first look at the last of three special designs for Saber Tag Kickstarter: A guard, hilt, and pommel designed to evoke the feeling of someone calling for aid.

This was one of the most hotly requested custom housings, and the white ‘negative space’ on the sides will keep the slim and sleek medieval guard design intact.

We’re getting close to the Kickstarter launch, and that new development is almost ready to share.

So stay tuned for more Saber Tag!
